Most of us face challenging situations at some stage in our lives which may feel difficult to manage.  Current difficulties may be linked to feelings that have occurred in the past and may be felt as anxiety, depression or problems within personal relationships.

No one can ‘make it all better’ but talking confidentially to someone who will visit things from a different perspective may help you to rediscover yourself and find new ways of managing.

Our counselling is rooted in listening, exploring and making links between your past and present feelings.  By promoting self-awareness it is possible to gain a better understanding of the influence of the past on present behaviour.

about us

Franceska and Amanda have many years of counselling experience working with a wide range of people from adolescence onwards.  We have a wealth of experience working with issues such as bereavement, depression, anxiety, interpersonal relationships, low self-esteem and eating disorders.

We are both qualified psychodynamic counsellors and are accredited members of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP) and adhere to strict ethics and standards.

We are also able to offer supervision to counsellors in training as well as qualified counsellors and psychotherapists.

our service

Consultation

When you contact us we will arrange a mutually convenient time to meet for a consultation. This will last 50 minutes. During this first meeting we will explore why you are coming for counselling and what you hope to gain from it. It will also give us an opportunity to find out whether we would like to work together.

Consultations cost £60.

Ongoing Sessions

If we agree to work together we will meet on a weekly basis, and each session will last 50 minutes. These are calm and unpressured opportunities to express and explore your thoughts and feelings.

The counselling process is generally client driven - meaning that you could be talking about anything, from the events of your day to your family history or past traumas.

Through this process we can build a trusting relationship, enabling you to safely explore your inner world and conflicts. Over time this can help you to gain a better understanding of yourself and others.

Sessions can be arranged on a fixed term, or open-ended basis.

The cost of counselling is £60 per session.

our location

The Little Hut

“The Little Hut” is what we call the venue where we provide our counselling sessions. It is a beautiful, recently fully-restored Cotswold stone building. A dedicated, calm and confidential counselling space, its uncluttered interior and charming period features make for an ideal place to work.

Oakridge

We are based in Oakridge, a small village seven miles between Cirencester and Stroud. It is about a 20 minute drive from Cirencester and Stroud, and 30 minutes from Cheltenham and Gloucester.
